Kettlebells are very simplistic exercise accessories which have been around for a very long time. In fact, the first documented use of kettlebell exercises was in ancient Greek athletes and Roman Gladiators who used them to create resistance in their training. This increased their strength dramatically and much more quickly than other forms of exercise. These kettlebells also increased endurance, balance and even agility.

Weight distribution caused by kettlebell exercises combined with specialized movements yielded results much greater than even hoped for, and these techniques have evolved and improved over the years. These kettlebells can range in weight from two pounds to a hundred, depending on one’s personal fitness starting point and goals. There is also a vast library of specialized movements which can craft the exact body and physical outcome desired.

The first difference between kettlebell exercises and regular exercises is that the use of kettlebells strengthens our grip, core, legs, and back in record time. These are not designed for the weak or faint hearted, and those who do not already have a workout routine may wish to hold off until they build up a bit. These exercises are designed to be very demanding and rigorous, and thus many athletes and bodybuilders use them to build muscle, endurance and ligament/joint strength.

There are many sources to obtain kettlebell equipment, but be sure you are purchasing from a reputable dealer. Look for a store or site which not only sells the product, but has knowledgeable staff which can give you advice and help. You don’t want to undertake kettlebell exercises on all by yourself and all alone in your house with no guidance.

Kettlebell exercise are perfect for developing full body conditioning and strength in athletes or bodybuilders. These should not be approached lightly, and it may be best to seek the help of a professional when beginning, or at the very least obtain instructional videos. Always be sure to start stretch, warm up, and start slowly. The appropriate water and protein intake is also vital, as well as a healthy diet and supplements. Avoid injuries at all costs!
